Kevin De Bruyne, the star player of Manchester City, believes that his team will still face criticism even if they manage to achieve a treble. As City prepares to face Inter in the Champions League final on June 11, winning the title would not only mark their first-ever triumph but also make them the second English team, after Manchester United in 1999, to achieve a treble.
De Bruyne acknowledges that no matter what City accomplishes, there will always be people who criticize them. “If we win it on Saturday, then some people will say why didn’t we win against Southampton in the League Cup and then get the Quadruple,” he said, as quoted by Football5Star.com from Mirror.
“That’s just how it is. We try to win every game possible. Sometimes you’re not good enough and the other team is better, and you have to accept it. It’s happened in the past, when other teams have beaten us. We know how big the moment is, but I feel more relaxed as a team, and the team is doing quite well at the moment, you get better chances.”

When asked if City needs to conquer Europe to be considered a truly elite team, despite their success in winning five Premier League titles in six years, De Bruyne responded, “It helps, but I’m in a very good position where I don’t have to talk about it.”
“I’m happy with the way I am. Obviously, I know it helps whatever people say about me and the team. But it doesn’t put me in a bad or good place. I stick to my ways. If you’re happy with yourself, then some things will be alright.”
